OCRemix's Final Fantasy IV album

In case you haven't heard via Facebook, Twitter, or Digg yet:

(from Digg) Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption is the 14th OverClocked ReMix Album, featuring free fan arrangements from the soundtrack to Square's Final Fantasy IV for the SNES. It is a 46 track, 3 act album that closely follows the game's story, from the onset to final credits, but transforms it into a rock opera of epic proportions.

I have not had time to hear the final disc or bonus tracks yet, as I was out of town this weekend. However, I was able to listen in on the first two discs at the online release party for #ocremix members. If you're into cerebral, engaging arrangements, then 1-5 "Ana(pro)logue" and 1-7 "Read the Sine" will remind you that there's a lot of ground left to be covered with just 13 chromatic pitches!

If a more orchestral approach is your speed, then your favorites will probably be 1-1 "Full of Courage" and 1-13 "Edward's Dream Quartet" -- the latter of which even features page turns during the break! :p

Finally, if you're into raw awesomeness, then you've gotta check out 1-8 "Emerald Beauty", and 1-15 "Fighting For Tomorrow" -- the first is Rydia's theme like you've never heard it, and the second is Carl Orff meets modern rock, encompassing the spirit of the whole album. It's also the track that I was able to particpate on as a vocalist, one of the coolest things I've done in a while.

Congratulations to everyone involved for making some of the best music of the year thus far! Keep up the good work, OCRemix...I hear that DKC2 is next this fall?
